Some time ago in Thailand, I believe, and entire class in a private school decided to dress like Nazi, each of them in a different costume - - a couple of Hitlers, some SS officers and so forth.  They just thought it was a cool pop culture move and had no idea at all about the meaning.  Of course, in that part of the world, the swastika is a sacred symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism and other isms' so the confusion is understandable for that reason as well.  Obviously a very minor, given the comparisons, fallout from the menacing work of the Nazi, still its too bad just a great graphic was tarnished for all of modern history.
